In Between
You hold me
as though walls aren’t tumbling,
the world isn’t spinning,
like I’m a puzzle piece
fallen into place.
It’s safe here.
My breathing finds a steady rhythm.
You’ve battles to fight.
My share await me, too.
Still I stay here,
my head on your chest.
This in-between gets me through.
